Automatic Rain Gauge- Engineering Lab Training Systems.
The device is known as the tilting bucket type Rain Gauge.
No measurement is necessary as the rain is collected in the receiver and
is dropped into a bucket divided into two parts. After the rain has
filled one side. it falls over and empties itself, the other half of the
bucket coming into position to receive the water, and so on. The number
of variations are recorded by a counting machine indicating rain falls
upto 100 cms and can be observed through a glass covered
inspection window. The instrument is protected by a painted
enamelled metal case with non corrosive brass sheet square
funnel receiver.
