Press Station

The Fluidic Muscle Press station presses workpiece inserts into the housings. The rotary/linear actuator (transfer device) moves the housing with the insert placed on it under the press. The pneumatic muscle performs the pressing operation. The finished workpiece is then transported to the transfer position using the rotary/linear actuator. An optical diffuse sensor is attached to the arm of the actuator for sensing the workpiece. The pressing pressure is monitored and displayed using the analogue pressure sensor. The press-in speed and depth can be varied both manually – via throttle and pressure regulator – and electronically – via the proportional pressure regulator.

•    Fluid muscle press module with fluidic muscle with fibre-reinforced contracting diaphragm and integrated force compensator, manually adjustable pressure regulator and supply air flow control valve
•    Pressure sensor, with LCD display and bar chart, measuring range 0 – 10 bar with analogue output 0 – 10 V and PNP switch output. Switching time ON 200 ms, switching time OFF 290 ms, pressure unit in bar, Psi, kPa, coded lock, differential pressure
•    Valve terminal module for actuation of the pneumatic actuators with 10 mm inserts, comprising 5/2-way valve with pilot control, 2x 3/2-way valve (normally open) and 3/2-way valve with pilot control
•    One-piece aluminium profile plate (350 x 700 mm) with 50 mm slot width, slots on both sides
•    Service unit with filter and pressure regulator
•    Infrared receiver for a release message sent by a following station equipped with an infrared transmitter
•    Infrared transmitter for sending a release message to a previous station equipped with an infrared receiver
•    Terminal block with eight outputs, eight inputs and connection for 24 V DC. Amalgamates all digital signals and forwards these for connection to a controller via an IEEE 488/24-pin compatible plug connection. The signal states are shown via LED displays for ease of troubleshooting
