Sorting Station

The Sorting station sorts workpieces onto three slides. Workpieces placed on the start of the conveyor are detected by a diffuse sensor. Sensors upstream of the stopper detect the workpiece features (black, red, metal). Sorting gates actuated by short-stroke cylinders via a deflector allow sorting of workpieces onto the appropriate slides. A retro-reflective sensor monitors the level of the slides.

•    2x sorting gate, pneumatic, mounted on the conveyor, with one double-acting short-stroke cylinder, two sensors for end-position sensing
•    Stopper module, mounted on a guide rail, with one single-acting short-stroke cylinder for stopping workpieces
•    Valve terminal module for actuation of the pneumatic actuators with 10 mm inserts, comprising 3x 5/2-way valve terminal with pilot control
•    One-piece aluminium profile plate (350 x 700 mm) with 50 mm slot width, slots on both sides
•    Fibre optic retro-reflective sensor / transmitter and receiver via fibre optic cable
•    Service unit with filter and pressure regulator
•    Infrared transmitter for sending a release message to a previous station equipped with an infrared receiver
•    Terminal block with eight outputs, eight inputs and connection for 24 V DC. Amalgamates all digital signals and forwards these for connection to a controller via an IEEE 488/24-pin compatible plug connection. The signal states are shown via LED displays for ease of troubleshooting

•    The station can be operated individually or combined with at least four further stations by simply pushing them together.
