Oblique Rain Test Apparatus - For Electrical Lab Training Oblique rain test apparatus is used for testing splash proof electrical appliances. The Oblique Rain Test Apparatus consists of a tube formed into a semicircle and fitted with jets of specified orifice diameter at a specified distance from each other and directed towards the center of the semicircle. The jets are fitted only in the arc subtending an angle of 60º on either side of the vertical. The tube is oscillated with the help of a lever through an angle of 60º on either side of the vertical. A balancing weight is also fitted to facilitate easy oscillations. The tube is fitted in the center of a galvanized iron tank provided to collect the sprayed water. The tank is mounted on a rigid angle iron frame. A control valve and a pressure gauge are provided to control and measure the head of water. A support to keep the appliance under test is also provided. An electric pump is provided for re-circulation of water.
